【Abstract】 Sociolinguistics goes against the linguistic tradition of centering on formal language research and devotes itself to the study of the law of language and its use in relation to social factors.From it at least three implications can be drawn for foreign language teaching (FLT).(1)FLT must focus on directly developing student’s communicative competence;(2)culture should be taken as a part of FLT;and (3)the only way out for the reform in FLT lies first in updating the view of language.更多还原
