MH-Ni电池镍电极膨胀抑制剂的研究
Study on the additives for inhibiting swelling of nickel electrode
【摘要】 镍电极的膨胀是制约镍电极及MH Ni电池寿命的主要因素。研究了分别将CdO和ZnO作为膨胀抑制剂 ,以与Ni (OH) 2 机械混合的方式添加到电极活性物质中时对镍电极性能的影响 ,并用循环伏安法、交流阻抗法和X射线衍射法对实验结果进行分析。结果表明 :对于机械混合的添加方式 ,ZnO比CdO更适合作为镍电极的膨胀抑制剂。这主要是因为ZnO作为镍电极的膨胀抑制剂提高了电极反应的可逆性 ,在较大程度上强化了镍电极的析氧极化 ,提高了电极的充电效率 ,改善了电极中质子的传输能力 ,使得电极的电化学反应电阻较小、循环后电极活性物质中生成的γ NiOOH较少 ,因而电极的膨胀较小 ,综合性能较好 ;再加上当今社会人类环保意识的日益增强 ,使得ZnO作为镍电极的膨胀抑制剂比CdO显示出更大的优势。
【Abstract】 Effects of ZnO and CdO, which were mixed with Ni(OH) 2 mechanically and were added into the electrode active material as swelling inhibitor, on properties of the nickel electrode, especially on its swelling were studied. The experimental results were analyzed by means of cyclic voltammetry, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS) and X ray diffraction(XRD). The results show that when ZnO is added into the electrode mechanically as the swelling inhibitor, the reversibility of nickel electrode is improved as well as the poliarization caused by oxygen evolution, the charge efficiency and the transportation ability of H +. Moreover, the γ NiOOH produced in the active materials after cycles is reduced. Thus, the swelling of electrode is decreased and its comprehensive properties are better than that using CdO as swelling inhibitor. Furthemore, ZnO is an environmental friendly material, which makes it more capable of being the additive for inhibiting the swelling of nickel electrode.
