【Abstract】 , developed from the cross of 8902S and You ⅠB, is an indica photo and thermo sensitive genic male sterile (PTGMS) line in rice. The critical sterility inducing temperature is 23℃ under long daylength conditions, and the stable sterile period is more than 50 d at Yongchuan, Chongqing. Its seed setting rate was 34.33% under cold water (18～22℃) irrigating conditions at Chashan, Chongqing and higher than 60% at Lingshui, Hainan. Sown at Yongchuan in early season, it headed in 98～109 days with 65.0～67.4 cm of plant height, 145.4～177.4 spikelets/panicle and 27.8 g of 1 000 grain weight. It also has good outcrossing habits like early flowering, large angle of glume opening, vigorous stigma, which results in a high outcrossing rate in its hybrid seed production. It has a good combining ability and its hybrids show strong heterosis in grain yield, e.g., the combination of 2602S×10 yielded 8.87 t/hm 2, 5.12% higher than that of the check Shanyou 63 in Chongqing Multilocation Yield Trial in 1996, with its maturity similar to that of the check.更多还原
