【Abstract】 Three two-line rice hybrids Peiai 64s/E32, Peiai 64s/9311 and Yueza 122, and 2 inbred rice varieties Yuexiangzhan and Tesan’ai 2, were used to study the difference of growth dynamics of their blades and sheath in the early cropping season at Guangzhou. The results showed that (1) the emergence rate of leaves on the main culm accorded with the plant growth duration, the longer the growth duration, the faster the emergence rates of the leaves on the main culm; (2) the small ratio of sheath/blade length was helpful for the formation of large panicles and the increase of seed sets. ’Long blade and short sheath’ should be one of the important targets for high yield rice breeding.更多还原
