【Abstract】 In Ninghai City with a population of 642,000,Zhejiang,up to 1997 there were 767 registered cases of leprosy. Since 1975 it has started to control leprosy,and from 1987 WHO-MDT has been adopted. Out of 535 persons cured with DDS or DDS plus RMP 10 relapsed(1.86%)and there was no relapse in the users of MDT. Among them 224 had visible disability(29. 2%)and 309 died ,of which 162 before cured and 147 after that. The de- tection rate decreased from 5. 14/100,000(before 1975)to 0. 0,13/100,000(1993)and after 1994 no new case was seen. Among 309 deads,those died of cancers were in 48(6.2%),cor pulmonale in 37(4.82%),angiocardiopathy in 32(4.17%), apoplexy in 19(2. 84%),pneumonia or TB in 17 (2. 22%),accident in 16(2. 09%)and suicide in 11(1. 43%). But the average life-span of the persones cured of leprosy was 73. 95 years old, nearing that in normal residents in 1997 when 405 of them were still living.更多还原
