【Abstract】 As manufacturing must produce products according to design specified and more than 75% of the product costs as well as all product features are determined at design stage,significant improvement on product quality,features and costs can be achieved by improving design.This paper presents a revies of the recent developments in design research.As an example,the knowledgeaided life cycle design program and sample projects are briefly discussed.Future research directions and possible topics for research are also suggested for both fundamental as well as applied work in engineering design.更多还原
