【Abstract】 Chitin contained in the crab and lobster shells and chitosan obtained by deacetylation ofchitin are very useful biopolymers. In this review the use of these polymers as fibers and wounddressing materials and the recent trend of the investigation on chitin and chitosan are surveyed.
