【Abstract】 For recently ten years a number of transformation methods have been developed for the introduction of DNA into plants.However,none of these are universally applicable and many of the world’s major crops such as rice,wheat and barley still remain untransformed. The recalcitrant species needs an alternative method of transformation.This article reviews .the evolution of particle bombardment,briefly explains the principle of the acceleration sys- tems and the construction of the instrument,and the factors effecting transformation effi- ciency,summaries the application in gene delivery to plants by particle bombardment, evaluats its advantages and potential and discusses some unsolved problems.更多还原
