【Abstract】 Following a brief survey on the application of adaptive theory to the steering of ships, a microcomputer-controlled self-tuning adaptive steering system designed by the authors is presented. Three operational models may be selected: manual, PID and adaptive steering. Full scale trial on board merchant vessel "Da-Ming-Shen" was made with encouraging results. A discussion on the trend of development such as self-learning control and artifical intelligence control is also given in this paper.更多还原
