【Abstract】 Surgical treatment of neoplasms in thalamic and basal ganglial area remains a challenge to neurosurgeon for its critical location of anatomy. Modification of traditional stereotactic procedures with modern image techniqne has provided new options for it.This paper reports the methods and results of resection of thalamic and basal ganglial neoplasma of 8 patients by laser microsurgery with CT-guided stereotactic craniotomy.Among the 8 patients, 5 were glioma, one was AVM, one was metastatic cancer and the rest was granuloma. All the lesions were removed totally or subtotally. The neurological functions of the 8 patients were improved or unchanged postoperatively except one with metastatic cancer whose neurological deficits worsen temporarily after operation. No one died of operation. The preliminary experience and advantage as well as shortcoming of the new approach are discussed.更多还原
