【Abstract】 The United Kingdom is a country with a long history In utilizing ocean wave energy More than 350 wave power generating devices havw been patented so far making the UK occuping a leading position in the technology for ocean wave en- orgy development. This paper reviews the history of wave energy utilization and describes some of the major wave power generating devices developed in the UK since the 1970s.
