【Abstract】 A brief introduction is given on the history, major types, characteristics, and uses of nacreous pigments. Titanium dioxide-mica pigmeats and titanium dioxide/other metallic oxide-mica comdination pigments are described as the most rccent developments. Their preparation methods, comparision of their external forms, physical characteristics are outlined, followed by discusaioas on structure, relationship between interference colors, coating layer thickness, adherence, range of particle size, and new fields of application.
