【Abstract】 Eastern Kunlun Mt.——Kumkoli basin is located at the northern edgeof Qinghai-Tibet plateau. The Neotectonic movement since Neogene has been rather strong in this area, leadiug the formation of the basic skeleton of the modern basin landform.Thick sediments of river-lake facies formed during Neogene period, of which the distribution is very difference in time and space. The sediments formed during Quaternary is thickless, but widely distributed. The action of faults, newly occurred in Neotectonic period and also the revived palaeo-faults, is rather active, and the hydrographic system is controlled by faults and arranged along the structural line in the direction of WNN There are 1-2 grade planation suface in the mountain system and 2-3 grade benches on the traverse profile of the river many rivers in the area changed their course and some river beds and lakes migrate to the direction of north and east regularly during Neotectonic period.The Neotectonic movement in this area has the characteristics of inheriting, new emerging, intermittencing of tectogenesis, with differential rising movement, and removing of sedimentary centre.The direction of the tectonic movement in the area forced by NS strike is mainly horizontal movement. The sources of this action force come from both India plate which forms a pushing force from south to north and Tarim platform which forms a special reaction force.更多还原
