【Abstract】 Periodontal disease incidence in diabetics is higher than nondiabetes.Kron-man〔1〕(1970)suggested that increased blood vessel PAS-positive basement membrane area staining was noted to occur within 76.1% of the diabetic and 20% of the nondiabetic specimens evaluated.In this study,gingival micro-vessels from diabetic and nondiabetic sufferingswere examined by light and eletron microscopes.Pronounced changes and thickening of vessel walls were found in diabetic gingival micro-vessels,and,in many cases,swelling of endothelial cells produced lumenal obstruction.Plasma ceils in gingival tissue presented prominent feature degeneration and,occasioanlly,Russell bodies were observed.更多还原
