【Abstract】 Dinoderus minutus Fabricius is the most serious species infecting harvested culms of bamboos. It attacks many species of bamboos. In the insectary, it has five generations per year in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province. Under natural conditions, generations are overlapping and adults emerge mostly from May to August in Guangzhou, The adult burrow into a bamboo and oviposit inside it. The larvae mine along it and pupate in their tunnels and the new adult usually bore out by the shortest route. It takes 40-42 days to complete a generation in July-August in Guangzhou. The pest can be prevented by dipping bamboos with Phoxim emulsion or be controlled by soaking the infested bamboos in hot water or by fumigating them with Zinc phosphide or Calcium phosphide.更多还原
