【Abstract】 Chemically modified latex sesbania(LTS)was innovatively used as a strengthening agent in sack paper production. It was claimed that LTS had never been employed as such ever before. A dosage of around 0.5% latex sesbania proved to have given significant increases in many of the physio-mechanical properties of the end product, with dynamic properties in particular, leading to better performance of the resulting paper sack made from it. Improvement in uniformity of the product paper as also visualized. Less steam consumption and extended life of papermachine clothings (wire and felt) were claimed. Addition of latex sesbania did not seem to have brought about problems of any sort as yet. It followed without saying that product quality was upgraded and production proved to be more profitable.更多还原
