【Abstract】 Six lytic bacteriophages were isolated from samples of Bacillus subtilis BF7658.The morphology, some biological properties of the phages and the physicochemical characteristics of their DNAs were compared. Electron-microscopic observation indicated that all phage heads appeared to be elongated, but the head size and the length of the tails varied. These phages had a narrow host range. The molecular weights of the phage DNAs were between 29.9 and 98 kb by EcoRI enzyme analysis. The G + C content of the DNAs ranged between 45.1 and 60.2 mol% as estimated from melting temperture. All six strains gave four major protein bands and at least five minor ones as analysed by SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis.更多还原
