【Abstract】 This paper reports the activity of sodium pump in human erythrocytes in 22 patients with deficiency of kidney Yang of which 10 and 9 cases were treated with"warming the kidney decoction"for half a year and a whole year respectively.19 normal cases and 8 cases with deficiency of kidney Yin were taken as control. It was found that before the treatment,activity of sodium pump in red cell(or Na~+,K~+—ATPase)in the patients with deficiency of kidney Yang was obviously lower than that of the normal group.The results suggest that abnormality in heat producing in the kidney Yang group may be related to decreasing of the activity of sodium pump in red cell.After a course of treatment by traditional Chinese medicine,the function of Na~+,K~+-ATPase in the patients with deficiency of kidney Yang was raised to normal level,.Activity of Na~+,K~+-ATPase in human red cell in patients with deficiency of kidney Yin was practically the same as the normal group. According to the paper,activity of sodium pump might be considered as one of diagnostic criteria for deficiency of kidney Yang.更多还原
