【Abstract】 This investigation was to verify the effects of luteinizing hormone-releasing hor-mone analogue （D-Ala）⁶-（des-Gly）¹⁰-LH-RH-ethylamide （LH-RH-A） on ovulationin rats.Adult female rats weighing 200～250 gram with 4-day cycle were selected.Rats exhibiting at least 1～2 consecutive 4-day cycle are selected for LH-RH-A treat-meat.The analogue was injected during either proestrus or diestrus and proestrus.Control group was injected with saline.All animals were killed 24 hrs.after estrus.The fallopian tubes were taken at this time.Blood samples（3ml） for progestesteronemeasurement were collected from the venous plexus behind the eyeball.The numberof ova in the fallopian tubes were counted under a dissecting microscope.It was found that ovulation was inhibited in the LH-RH-A 500 μg dose groupduring diestrus and proestrus.The rate of anti-ovulation was 100%.The absence ofovulation was associated with the falling of progesterone level in the plasma.How-ever,ovulation was not inhibited when injection was done during proestrus.Basedupon the above observation the authors thought that the anti-ovulation effect of LH-RH-A may be mediated through the hypothalamus and hypophysis.更多还原
