【Abstract】 This paper states that gas can be formed under multiple geochemical reaction. On this basis, it focus on discussing the modes of forming gas and the gas prospect in China. It is suggested that natural gas is of multiple origin and can be formed from both organic and inorganic matrix. Gas can also be formed endogenically or epigenetically. And gas can be formed both at low or high temperatures, and even at the stage of metamorphism. Gas may be divided into three types according to their origin, biogenic gas, thermal gas, deep-source gas of ten kinds of mode of gas forming. This article makes a preliminary approach to the characteristics of various modes of gas forming and the geological conditions under which gas is formed.更多还原
