【Abstract】 L--10 long-live coal--tar pitch antifouling paint is made of coaltar pitch, rosin, organic tin compound, pigments and solvent. It has a long and remarkable effects on fouling organisms. The steel panels coated with this antifouling paint were tested under sea immersion condition at Tsingtao port and had a satisfactory antifouling performance after 48 months. As seen from ship’s bottom hall experiment after three years the marine fouling organisms are less than 1% (by covered area). The leaching rate of L--10 antifouling paint has been determined in lab after immersion. The initial leaching rate is comparatively high, but it comes down gradu- ally after 3 months. Then, it settles to a steady state and keeps just above critical antifouling value for a considerable period. L--10 antifouling paint has an excellent storage stability without precipitation under normal storage conditions. The technical information and precautions for this paint are given below: A) Technical information: 1. Colour: dark green to brown green. 2. Vicosity: 30--60 sec. (Ford cup No. 4 25℃) 3. Fineness of grind=80 microns 4, drying time (25℃) surface dry= 3 hrs. 5. Coverage: 80 g/m~2 6. Specific gravity: 1. 45kg/1 7. leaching rate of antifouling paint: = 1～3μg(Sn)/cm~2/day 8. Method of application: roller, bruch and spray B) Precautions for painting: 1. Stirring the paint thoroughly before application. 2. Normal precautions such as gloves, face mask and protective clothings be taken. 3. Maintain adequeate ventilation. 4. Wash hands and clothings thoroughly with soap after using.更多还原
