【Abstract】 In order to find out the distribution of blood pressure and to probe into the cri teria of hypertension in children, we have examined the blood pressures of 2506 chi ldren (1285 boys and 1221 girls) between 3-14 years old in Heping District of Tianjin. The distribution of blood pressures shows a V-shaped curve. The blood pressures of pre-school ages are higher, The frequency distribution of blood pressure levels is skew to right. It suggests that there are individuals in this group of children whose blood pressures are abnormally elevated. Finally we have discussed in detail the diagnostic criteria of hypertension in children recommended as 140/90mmHg for the cri tical value of blood pressure in children, <130/80mmHg as normal, and between the two as borderline hypertension.更多还原
