【Abstract】 Nude mouse is a mutant strain of hairless mouse with thumus dysgenesis.The thymic rudiment is present in the thymic area.In the paper reported here we have studies the development of the thymic rudiment,spleen,lymph nodes and hair follicles.The thymic rudiment was revelaed as a small alveolar gland-like structure,located near the trachea.In the early stage,this organ was a small gland-like structure;and became cystic in the elderly mouse.Within the cavity of the eyst PAS-positive material was found.Many gland-like and PAS-positive structure were also found outside the cyst.In the spleen,Malpighian body was shown 15 days after birth;the hemosiderin pigment in the red pulp could be detected after 105 days.The cortical and the medul-lar area of lymph node was in distinguishable on the first day after birth,but could be shown as outer and inner layers after 15 days.Thirty days after birth,the paracor-tieal area,the so-called thymus-dependent zone,completely lacking lymphocytes but replaced by reticular cells,was observed.The hair follicles have developed after the first day of birth,but the hairs did not cut through the epidermis because they are bent,coiled and fail to penetrate the epidermis.The hairlessness of such nude mice is actually due to abnormal keratinzation of the epidermis and the hair follicles.更多还原
