【摘要】 历史上的苏格兰大学曾享誉世界。圣安德鲁斯大学、格拉斯哥大学、阿伯丁大学和爱丁堡大学这四所苏格兰最古老的大学,成为近代大学发展过程中的一个重要里程碑。苏格兰的大学产生于中世纪晚期,成立之初资金窘迫、学术水平低。后历经16、17世纪的大胆改革,从入学要求、课程设置和教学管理方式等方面进行锐意创新,在18、19世纪取得了举世瞩目的成就,开创了近代大学在培养目标、课程和研究等方面的新局面,迎来了大学的辉煌时期。苏格兰大学的发展历史,具有非常独特和重要的意义。 本论文以苏格兰大学的发展历史为研究对象。全文除序言和结论外,主体共分四章,第一章主要分析了中世纪苏格兰的大学形成与发展背景、现状和条件,重点研究圣安德鲁斯大学、格拉斯哥大学、旧阿伯丁大学三所大学的创建与初期发展;第二章着重于宗教改革后的苏格兰大学的历史研究,探究了宗教改革对苏格兰的大学的影响,以及苏格兰的大学内部管理改革;第三章对英格兰、苏格兰合并后的苏格兰大学进行了全面系统分析。合并为苏格兰的大学注入了新的生机和活力,苏格兰的大学进入一个新的发展时期,同时也面临着许多方面的问题,特别是在处理好传统与现代关系问题上必须做出选择;第四章是20世纪的苏格兰大学教育的发展。古老的四所苏格兰大学独占苏格兰高等教育螯头几百年的局面终于在20世纪被打破。新的教育机构纷纷出现,大学规模不断扩大,女子高等教育飞速发展,高等教育机构的阶级基础逐渐拓宽,苏格兰的高等教育在20世纪80、90年代进入了大众化的阶段。这一时期的苏格兰的大学在继承传统与变革之间,焕发出新的生机。更多还原

【Abstract】 The Scottish universities used to have world-wide fame. The most ancient four universities in Scotland, St Andrews University, Glasgow University, Aberdeen University and Edinburgh University, became an important landmark during the development process of modern universities. Scottish universities, which were created in the late Middle Ages, suffered from shortage of fund and low academic level in their early times. Through the bold reforms and innovations on entrance requirements, curricula and teaching management in 16th and 17th century, Scottish universities attracted world-wide attention an achieved great success. The 18th and 19th centuries becomes the splendid period of the development of Scottish universities of very particular significance.This dissertation studies the development history of Scottish universities. There are four chapters except for Preface and Conclusion. Chapter one analyses the emerging and preliminary development of Medieval Scottish universities. Chapter two focuses on the Scottish universities after Reformation. Chapter three studies the reforms and changes after Scotland and England’s union. Chapter four discusses the Scottish higher education in 20th century.更多还原
