Expert systems (ES) are widely applied in the plant protection area. The conception, characteristic and constitutes of ES is introduced briefly in this paper. Then it emphasizes the applied aspects of ES in plant protection, including, diagnosis, differentiation, forecast, manage, ect.. In the mean time, the article also discusses the research direction and applied prospects of ES.
