Molecular maker technology has been widely applied to identification of culti-var and bud mutation, evaluation of the inherited basis of germplasm, classification, marking of the linkage of important agronomic characters, and so on in Malus Mill. In this paper, the recent headways of molecular marker technology and its application to Malus Mill in China are reviewed, and the development in this field is prospected.
