Objective To develop an HPLC mothod for determining the content of ephedrine hydrochloride in Xichuan pills.Methods The analysis was performed on an ODS-C18 column(200 mm×4.6 mm,5 μm).The mobile phase consisted of acetonitrile-0.2% phosphoric acid solution(10∶90).The detection wavelength was set at 207 nm.Results The linear range for ephedrine hydrochloride was 4.132~61.98 μg/mL(r=0.999 9).The average recovery was 99.97% with RSD 0.5%(n=6).Conclusion The method is simple,accurate and reproducible.
