Separation of Enantiomers of a Chiral Lactone on Sol-Gel Gas Chromatographic Capillary Columns of Poly(methylhydrosiloxane) Stationary Phase with Pendant Permethylated β-Cyclodextrin
Four different pendant cyclodextrin poly(methylihydrosiloxane) (PMHS)-based chiral stationary phases were synthesized. The four are different in the anchoring positions of cyclodextrin to PMHS, the structures and the lengths of the anchoring arms. The four stationary phases were used for the preparation of GC capillary columns by sol-gel method. These columns were then used to separate enantiomers of (±)γ-phenyl-γ-butyrolactone.
