Progress in the field of catalyst used for preparation of fatty acid monoglycerides was reviewed.Some new types of catalyst used for this purpose,such as nonionic bases,ion-exchange resins,meso-porous materials,metal oxides and lipases were introduced.The efficacy,advantages and disadvantages of such catalysts were compared.
