Membrane bioreactor(MBR) is a new waste water treatment technology in recent years.In this paper,the characieristics,current applications,existing problems and development of membrance bioreactor(MBR) used in waste water treatment were summarized.The research development on MBR operation process,new membrance materials and modules,the tactors of membrance fouling and the methods against the fouling were particularly emphasized and the research trends were also proposed.
