THE SURVIVAL OF OLFACTORY ENSHEATHING CELLS IN FREEZE-THAWED PERIPHERAL NERVE GRAFT FILLED WITH SCHWANN CELLS AND ITS EFFECT ON AXONAL REGENERATION OF ADULT RAT OPTIC NERVE
To Investigate the survival of olfactory ensheathing cells (OECs) in freeze-thawed peripheral nerve (PN) graft filled with Schwann cells (SCs) and the effect on axonal regeneration of adult rat optic nerve. The freeze-thawed PN, pre-degenerated freeze-thawed PN, pre-degenerated freeze-thawed PN with injected OECs , freeze-thawed PN filled with SCs and freeze-thawed PN with injected OECs filled with SCs grafts were implanted onto the ocular stumps of the transected optic nerves in homogeneous animals. Four w...
