According to the applied history and the situation of bamboo resource in China, the authors put forward the research direction and the development trend in bamboo utilization, emphasize the exploitation of bamboo charcoal, the existing problems, applied prospect and probable methods in exploiting domestic market of bamboo charcoal. In addition, the basic theory and applied research on bamboo charcoal are described and the projects facing in theoretical and applied study are offered.
