The image texture features are described by use of fractal theory. A new edge detecting fractal feature is obtained through analyzing the different texture image and the fractal parameters at the image edge position, thus an image edge detecting method based on fractal feature is proposed. The edge detection for the different images can be carried out by the introduction of adaptive threshold. The method is simple and fast. It also has good anti-noise performance.
