The suitable soil used to purify municipal domestic refuse leachate (MDRL) was screened out in Chongqing by static and dynamic tests. The design parameters of two stage land treatment, including soil infiltration basin (SIB) and reed wetland (RWL), were suggested through laboratory simulated experiments. The simulated treatment results showed that NH + 4 and COD cr removal of MDRL could be up to 90% by SIB and RWL, and the effluent qualities could comply the national standard for discharge.
