The Sox gene of Alligator sinensis Fauvel was amplified by using a pair of primers, which can amplify the conservative motif of human SRY gene. The result suggested that the male and female Alligator sinensis both have Sox gene, whose length was consistent with that of human SRY gene. The result of SSCP analysis showed that there were many differences in the Sox gene sequence between Alligator sinensis and human, but no difference between male and female Alligator sinensis.
