Polysaccharide of Spirulina maxima (PSM) was isolated and purified from Spirulina maxima by hot water extraction, alcohol precipitation, Sevag method and gel filtration(Sephadex G 100). Its homogeneity was examined by paper chromatography, Sephadex G 200 gel column chromatography and HPLC. The average molecular weight of PSM is 29 500.
