The method is presented for preparation of sodium metasilicate pentahydrate from residue after extracting magnesium from serpentine ore. Various factors affecting the process are analysed and optimum operating conditions of main processes are studied. The results show that the process is characterized by moderate operating conditions, no need of evaporation in crystallization of sodium metasilicate pentahydrate and low energy consumption.
