A new method in license plate location is discussed.With a fitness function formed by the area character vector,the Genetic Algorithm is applied to search the image.Finally the optimal locating parameter of the practical plate area is found.It is proved by experiment results that the antinoise ability of the method is strong and the license plate extracted is accurate and complete.The method is practical
