The polarographic behavior of the reaction product of formaldehyde and diamine sufate on the drop mercury electrode was investigated in a buffer solution of 0.02 mol/L HOAc NaOAc (pH 5.0) and a sensitive reduction wave was obtained at -1.04 V (vs.SCE). Under the optimum conditions, the detection limit and the linear range were 0.01 mg/L and 0.01~1.0 mg/L for the formaldehyde, respectively. The proposed method was simple, rapid, sensitive and selective. This method has been applied to the determination ...
