In this paper the biogeochemical character of cadmium element was described briefly and the present distribution and pollution of Cd element in soil in the western Chengdu plain were introduced. Geological origin of high content of Cd element in soil was interpreted from the view angle of geochemistry. Some suggestion and measure concerning the prevention of Cd pollution were proposed.
