This paper introduces both the wavelet-based multiresolution analysis and the Mallat fastspeed algorithm. At the same time, the wavelet transformation is used to decompose in different sizes the actual geophysical and geochemical anomalies in order to offer a new approach to the extraction of the regional background and local anomaly of the geophysical and geochemical anomalies. In addition, the fractal feature is dealt with of the geophysical and gerehemical anomalies shown in the wavelet coefficient map.
