Harmonics in power system should be suppressed or removed,which is very critical for the quality of the system in transfering power.Before doing so,we should first detect harmonious frequencies and its amplitude.This paper proposes a new method based on wavelet theory for calculating the frequencies of the harmonic which is the theory basis for suppressing or removing those harmonics.
