Introduce the main contents and trends of development of dynamics, from linear and nonlinear dynamics to dynamics of complex systems. The present paper is focused on the contents, the state-of-the-art and problems of nonlinear dynamics in engineering. Some suggestions on the crossing developments of the theory of nonlinear dynamics and engineering &technological research are proposed.
