嵌入式GUI系统通常是作为嵌入式系统的应用软件出现的，因此，本文首先详细分析了嵌入式系统与传统计算机系统相比在硬件设备、操作系统、应用软件等方面的特点。接着，介绍了嵌入式GUI的概念，特点以及常用的体系结构。当前，嵌入式GUI技术迅速发展，形形色色的嵌入式GUI产品在国内外众多应用领域中得到普及。本文从组成结构、系统功能等方面对几个主流的嵌入式GUI系统(紧缩的X Windows系统、MicroWindows、OpenGUI、QT/Embedded)进行了介绍。在此基础上，分析了嵌入式GUI领域中图形界面基本元素、消息驱动、界面管理等方面的先进技术。
