基金会现场总线(Foundation Fieldbus,FF)是当今自动化领域的热点，基于FF的现场总线控制系统(Fieldbus Control System)逐步取代集散控制系统(Distributed Control System,DCS)已成为工业界的趋势。开发基于FF的控制系统的关键是研究和开发FF协议，本论文要解决的就是FF协议开发和实现中的若干关键问题。
本文的主要内容涵盖了以下几个方面：
一、现场总线综述。这部分介绍了现场总线的发展历程和现场总线的八种国际标准，同时展望了现阶段现场总线的发展趋势。
二、FF通讯栈和数据链路层。这部分是本论文的核心内容，作者结合自己的实际开发过程分析了FF的关键部分——数据链路层，并提供了具体的解决方案。
