The developing process of microspores and male gametophyte of Paeonia veitchii Lynch were observed by paraffin sectioning technique.The results showed that the microspores and male gametophyte developed during early and mid-April.The meiosis of microspore mother cells was of simultaneous type,mostly arranging in tetrad shape and rarely symmetrical.The mature pollen was of 2-cell type.
