We used the methods of morphology and molecular biology to investigate the biological characteristics(species,biomass and spatiotemporal variation) of the green tide algae collected from the Jiangsu coastal area.The results showed that Ulva linza Linnaeus and U.prolifera O.F.Müller are the dominant species in the area.A clear variation exists in different habitats and growing seasons.The biomass of green algae was higher in the south than in the north.In the late spring and early summer,the biomass reached ...
