Objective:To study the quality of different germplasm of Scutellaria and optimize the superior cultivar in China. Method: The content of polysaccharide and soluble carbohydate were determined by spectrophotometry. Results: The polysaccharide content was above 10% in Scutellaria from Shandong Tai,an, Linqu and Wendeng. The content was 7.22% in S. baicalensis Georgi and was only 5.01% in S. strigillosa Hemsl.
