The hereditary characteristics and breeding methods of mango were summarized in this paper.The research progresses and existing problem of mango breeding were also analyzed.Finally,the development trends of mango breeding resources were discussed,including collection and innovation of mango germplasm resources,quality breeding,breeding for disease resistance,yield potential and maturity of breeding,breeding dwarf and so on.
