After analyzing the requirements of communication system for power distribution automation,this paper presents the significant advantages that wireless communication system owns.Two potential schemes,one based on GPRS and the other based on Data Radio,were discussed.This article also gives the basic framework and technical characteristics of these two schemes while comparing them in many aspects.
